Snow in Hyogo
Hachi Kogen and Hachi Kita, on the south and north slopes of Hachibuse, join at the summit and share a lift ticket. Most of the ski areas are around Hachibuse and Hyonosen, in Kami and Yabu in Tajima, a day trip from Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto by the Kitakinki-Toyooka Expressway. The Chugoku Mountains split Hyogo in two: Tajima in the north sees long runs of cloud and snow, while the Kobe side in the south stays sunny and dry.
