Month by month
Month by month, the most snow falls in January. March brings 84% of January’s snowfall. That is a gentler fall than the median for ski areas in Austria (75%). In amount, March brings 49 cm, about the same as the median of 49 cm.
Winter by winter
Across the 12 winters measured, the average is 205 cm, and 7 of them fell short of it. The leanest was 2016/17 with 131 cm; the biggest was 2023/24 with 317 cm (2.4 times as much). For 39% of the 243 ski areas in Austria, the leanest winter was the same 2016/17.
