Roccaraso - Rivisondoli is a ski area in Italy. The terrain spans roughly 1802–1802 m above sea level. The mapped ski area is about 7.5 km across, corner to corner. The map shows 108 marked runs and 28 lifts inside the ski area, totalling about 67 km of piste. Averaged over the last twelve winters, the ERA5 reanalysis gives it 165 cm of snowfall a season, 1470th (tied) of the 3,069 ski areas we measure worldwide. The model runs well below what resorts report, so the ranking is the meaningful part rather than the centimetre figure. 1 official live camera is linked below. 1 other ski area lies within 120 km. Snow figures and the Powder Score are recalculated every day.
Elevation range is estimated by sampling points across the ski area.
We do not show a snow depth here. The weather model we use reports snow lying on the ground — it knows nothing about grooming or snowmaking, and it is not the base depth a ski area publishes. In Japan we can check our figures against 234 weather stations. Outside Japan there is nothing to check them against, so we do not print a number we have not verified. Runs and lifts
Counted from the runs and lifts drawn on OpenStreetMap, within the boundary of the ski area. These are not the resort’s own published figures.

Which way the slopes face
87% of the vertical on the runs descends to the north or east. Those slopes get the least sun, so the snow lasts longer.

When it falls, and how winters differ
Month by month
Month by month, the most snow falls in January. March brings 82% of January’s snowfall. That is a steeper fall than the median for ski areas in Italy (116%): the snow here is concentrated early in the season. In amount, March brings 41 cm, about the same as the median of 48 cm.
Winter by winter
Across the 12 winters measured, the average is 165 cm, and 7 of them fell short of it. The leanest was 2015/16 with 22 cm; the biggest was 2020/21 with 295 cm (13.4 times as much).
Snowfall each winter (December–March total). The dashed line is the average; the numbers mark the leanest and the biggest winter.
