In Japan we can check our figures against 234 weather stations. Outside Japan there is nothing to check them against, so we do not print a number we have not verified. Aspen Snowmass, in Colorado, United States, runs from 2,474 m at the base to 3,815 m at the top. The map shows 99 marked runs and 19 lifts (about 119 km of piste in all).
Over the last twelve winters the ERA5 weather model gives it 172 cm of snowfall a season, 1,401st (tied) of 3,069 worldwide and 133rd in the United States. Its winters are fairly steady; even the leanest, 2017/18 (125 cm), reached 73% of the average. December brings as much snow as January here (47 and 35 cm on average).
