The Sky Cabin gondola sells return tickets, so non-skiers can ride to the top too, and the slopes look out to Otaru and Ishikari Bay. Hokkaido Route 1 between Otaru and Jozankei is closed overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., on the stretch over the Asari Pass from early November to mid-April.
